Made for the Colder Months
When the weather turns, heading out to a spa is the last thing anyone feels like doing. A portable steam room keeps warm, humid heat a few steps away, ready whenever your week allows.
No demisting the windscreen or battling wet roads to reach a day spa. Your session starts in the next room, and you are already home when it ends.
Steam surrounds you with warm, moist air, a pleasant change from the dry warmth of ducted or gas heating that runs for months each year.
Pick a gentle level on a mild autumn evening or turn it up on a bitter July night. The remote lets you fine-tune the heat while you sit.
Whether you have just finished laps of the Tan or a session at the gym, steam can be a relaxing part of your post-training wind-down.
The enclosure has a modest footprint while in use, then folds down so the spare room can go back to being a study or guest room.
Once it is cool and completely dry, the tent slips into its carry bag and waits in a cupboard until the cold returns.
Local Steam Know-How
Melbourne winters bring weeks of grey skies, chilly mornings and wet, windy afternoons, and most homes respond by running ducted or gas heating from breakfast until bedtime. The result is cosy rooms with air that can feel dry, and plenty of people craving a different kind of warmth that a heater simply cannot provide.
IceFusion is based in Melbourne, so we understand how local homes are heated and laid out. We help you choose a spot with good ventilation, explain how the steamer, nine heat levels and remote work together, and deliver free across the metro area. After delivery, our team is a phone call away if you need a hand with setup, cleaning or storage.
Many bathrooms are compact or dated, and converting one into a steam room is a major job. A portable steam room sits on a suitable floor in a ventilated room and asks nothing of your plumbing.
You get a clear picture before you buy: an included steamer, nine heat levels, remote-controlled settings, a light, folding enclosure (listed at about 178 × 87 × 62 × 44 cm) and a carry bag.
Tell us your suburb, the room you have in mind and how you like to unwind. We will help you decide between steam and infrared, and explain how to keep the tent fresh through a long, damp winter.
Your First Winter Session
Getting from delivery box to first session needs no tradespeople. Follow these steps alongside the operating manual for a safe, comfortable setup.
Choose a level, moisture-tolerant floor away from carpet and electronics, ideally near a window or exhaust fan, with a suitable power outlet within reach.
Unfold the lightweight tent and assemble it following the supplied instructions, checking that it stands securely before you use it.
Add water and position the steamer exactly as the manual directs, keeping cords tidy and clear of where you will step.
Choose one of the nine heat levels, starting low, and use the remote to adjust as the steam builds around you.
Switch off, let everything cool, empty the steamer and open the tent to dry fully. On damp days, a fan or open window speeds things up before it goes into the carry bag.
Absolutely loving the ice bath. I've used it both hot and cold and it works great either way (I got the 1/2 hp unit, and I find it's enough to keep my bath shockingly cold 24/7). Scott was really communicative during the delivery and set up process. … Highly recommend.
Great product and great customer service. Order processed very quick and arrived before I knew it. Scott was great, very prompt on any enquiries that I had. Nothing but good things to say. Highly recommend this product and company.
I recently purchased an ice bath and chiller from Ice Fusion, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience! Scott, the owner, made the entire process so easy and seamless. … Highly recommend Scott and Ice Fusion if you're looking for top-quality products and excellent customer service!
A Simple Buying Checklist
Before you order, think about where the steam room will live during winter, how you will ventilate it and where it will go once the weather warms up. A little planning makes every session more comfortable.
Laundries, larger bathrooms and tiled living spaces handle humidity best. If your only free space has timber boards or carpet, protect the floor and choose a spot you can air out easily.
Steam adds moisture to the room. Open a window or run an exhaust fan after each session, especially in winter when the house is closed up and condensation forms quickly on cold glass.
On paper it measures close to 178 x 87 x 62 x 44 centimetres. Measure your space, then allow room for the steamer and for stepping in and out.
If you mainly steam from May to September, pick a dry cupboard for the carry bag over summer, and make sure the tent is completely dry before it goes in.
We offer free delivery to the Melbourne CBD and the inner north, northern, eastern, south-east, bayside and western suburbs, along with a 12-month warranty and help from our local team.
Unpacking Your Steam Kit
Everything needed for a first session arrives in one delivery, so there is nothing extra to hunt down before you start. Use this list when comparing portable steam options.
Built for the Cold Season
Melbourne winters are rarely extreme, but they are long, grey and persistently chilly. A few local conditions make a portable steam room especially welcome from May to September.
Midwinter afternoons often struggle to climb past the low teens, and a cold southerly wind can make it feel even colder. After a walk home through that wind, settling into warm steam feels very different from standing in front of a heater.
Ducted gas and reverse-cycle systems are common in local homes and often run from morning to night. They keep rooms warm, but the air can feel dry and stuffy. Steam offers a moist, soft warmth that makes a welcome change.
Rain, wind and early darkness make it easy to cancel plans to visit a bathhouse across town. With steam at home, the weather no longer decides whether your session happens.
Pricing Made Simple
The IceFusion portable steam sauna is $225 at the moment (normally $495), and delivery is free to Melbourne metro areas. There are no installation costs, no tradespeople to book and no spa memberships to keep paying through winter. Your price covers:

Winter is when most owners use theirs. After a day in rooms warmed by ducted or gas heating, warm, humid steam makes a comfortable change, and you can enjoy it without heading out on a cold, wet night.
Any steam adds moisture to a room. Set the tent up in a ventilated space, then open a window or run the exhaust fan once you finish. In winter, when windows stay shut, wipe away any condensation that forms on nearby glass.
Yes, with a little care. Choose a level spot, protect timber floors from moisture and make sure the room can be aired out. In many period homes, a laundry or a bathroom with spare floor space is the easiest place to set up.
Use the remote control to move through the nine heat levels. Many people start a level or two lower than they expect to need, then raise it once the tent has warmed and the steam has built up.
The foldable enclosure is designed for easy setup. Assemble the tent following the instructions, fill and position the steamer, plug in and choose your heat level. There is no plumbing, fixing to walls or building work involved.
Dry it indoors. Leave the enclosure open in a ventilated room, run a fan or exhaust if you have one, and give it extra time on damp days. Fold it into the carry bag only once every surface is completely dry.
It comes down to the feel you prefer. Steam is humid and enveloping, which many people enjoy when the house heating makes the air feel dry. Infrared is a drier, radiant warmth. Our steam sauna is $225 and our infrared sauna tent is $795.
Keep it short and on a low heat level, then lengthen sessions gradually as you get comfortable. Drink water and step out if you feel unwell.
If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or take medication, talk to your doctor before using steam.
